Not overlooked by neighbours; only trees, birds, paddocks, occasionally cattle, and the sea form the boundaries. There is no road noise and the ambient sounds are the rustle of the wind, a gentle surging of the sea in shallow and sheltered Pipiroa Bay, and birdsong. After a sunny day, during the evening the classic Lockwood house 'breathes' as the timber changes temperature.
